8 Hardy souls gathered in the icy winds at Berowra.

After some discussion, Wollombi in reverse was agreed with Morning Tea at Cooranbong
Corner marked from Springs Rd, down Bumble Hill, Yarramalong Rd, past the Triangle, Jilliby Rd, Mandalong Rd, Freemans Drive to a break at Cooranbong Park, 85k half way. 
Past Freemans Waterhole, left at Sandy Creek Rd, thru Millfield to Wollombi,  arrived at 12:40 for Lunch. Thanks to Rosco our TEC, nobody got lost, although puzzled how he wasn't the last to arrive.
Then a quick ride to the Pie, Heart rate rose when Andy and I, met a police car on Peats Ridge at a speed somewhat above the allowed speed. 5 riders at the Pie. Weather was pretty good, except the wind that rarely abated.  An enjoyable ride, great company, 368k for me. I hope Kiama was as much fun!

  After a quick briefing 17 talented Riders (2 Ladies and 15 “Gentleman”) departed the Berowra 7 Eleven under clear Spring Sunny Skies at the scheduled   9:30am   earlier start time. As planned our group was joined by Karen Fitzgerald as we cruised by Jerry’s at Kulnura bringing the lady rider numbers up to three. Having Karen join us was a great relief to Allan Scott who was feeling very lost and lonely at the 7 Eleven departure point. The regroup at Wollombi went smoothly as we tracked a further 30k’s north to Broke for our morning tea break. At this point I was mindful of another well known rider Frank Henry from Armidale joining us at the township of Merriwa.  Having used all my amazing computing skills, Artificial Intelligence and other logarithms my ETA given to Frank was to optimistic, so I searched for his “roommate” Wayne whilst at Broke so he could update Frank of a new arrival time. Kitchener Ride 22nd Oct 2026

  On a 'dampish' morning, 6 'silly buggers', sorry, 'hardy souls', met at Berowra with the aim of riding to Kitchener. The radar and sky did not look promising but 'wets' were thought to be adequate.We rode all the way to the Brooklyn Bridge, through a bit of a downpour,  when 2 riders disappeared in a reverse direction on the motorway. We then 'made it' to Mount White when another favoured the motorway, also in a reverse direction. The 3 'remainers' then swam to Kulnura where Kitchener was seen as far too challenging, so we reversed to the Mangrove Mountain crossroads and headed for Somersby, then the 'old road' to the Pits for lunch!   Cheers Paul

Orange Ride 28-29th Oct 2026

  If you overlook the brutally strong winds we had on the first day of our ride, we've just come off the back of two of the nicest consecutive ride days of weather that we've had for a while.   Eleven off us set off from Pheasants Nest  on Wednesday morning  for a trip to Orange.  The long way round!   No sooner had we departed from the meeting point, we'd barely travelled a few kms down the freeway before we diverted off at Bargo and started meandering around the Southern Highlands. Yanderra, Yerrinbool, and even other places that don't start with a 'Y', like Bowral, Moss Vale, Exeter, Bundanoon and Bungonia. 90 minutes later, we arrived for morning tea in Goulburn where the first of many sausage rolls and coffees were consumed.   Lunch was to be in Oberon so, quite correctly, we started heading North from Goulburn along the fabulous road to Taralga before taking the Shooters Hill route into Oberon for refueling — both of riders and bikes.  Then ...

Rathmines Ride 24th Sept 2026

start of the day looked a bit dodgy with heavy cloud cover but luckily no rain.   Eighteen riders assembled at Berowra 7-eleven.  There were no virgins as I guess they were absent due to their “endangered species” classification!!!   We headed off to Jerry’s for morning tea. The previous day there were a lot of highway patrol officers on the M1 (I counted twelve on bikes and in cars) when I rode from Port Macquarie to Sydney so I thought they’ve done their dash and we can push the pace along a bit, which we did. At Jerry’s we were joined by another rider who had had battery problems so we were now nineteen. After being told I shouldn’t have regrouped at Calga as we were corner marking religiously by some smart-arsed GS rider we headed off down Bumble Hill and along the Yarramalong Valley, again at a brisk pace. Chifley Dam Ride 30th May 2024

Thursday Ride to Chifley Dam. This week the Thursday Riders met at Maccas McGraths Hill. It was a chilly but sunny autumn morning. There were 17 starters and no new riders to the group. It was a nice ride along Bells Line of Road however there were three lots of road works where we had to wait for a Pilot Escort to continue. To avoid some traffic lights in Lithgow where the group usually gets split up, we turned left into Eskbank Street but missed turning right into Bent Street to make our way across to the Great Western Hwy via the Lithgow Small Arms Factory and Museum, however the corner marking kept the group together so we arrived at Bowenfels Olivers and Shell Service Centre together. Morning tea was had outdoors in front of Olivers. I was happy I got a small cappuccino and the best Lamington for only five bucks at the Shell Foodery.
