Kitchener Ride 22nd Oct 2026

 On a 'dampish' morning, 6 'silly buggers', sorry, 'hardy souls', met at Berowra with the aim of riding to Kitchener. The radar and sky did not look promising but 'wets' were thought to be adequate.We rode all the way to the Brooklyn Bridge, through a bit of a downpour,  when 2 riders disappeared in a reverse direction on the motorway. We then 'made it' to Mount White when another favoured the motorway, also in a reverse direction.

The 3 'remainers' then swam to Kulnura where Kitchener was seen as far too challenging, so we reversed to the Mangrove Mountain crossroads and headed for Somersby, then the 'old road' to the Pits for lunch!

UNB Wednesday Explorer Ride - 21st December

 Today was the last UNB Wednesday Explorer ride for 2022. The usual crowd (just we two) decided that coffee-with-a-water-view was the go, so we headed off down to the Akuna Bay Marina Cafe for just that. Here we bumped into Keith B and Mum, doing just the same after a spot of kayaking. All very pleasant. On our return our dedicated Informal Pres. MTC did some necessary roadside signage repairs, and I spied some super-cheap 98 octane at the Terry Hills servo. Everybody happy and enjoying another splendid day on Gods Own Northern Beaches - what more could we want?. And today being the last scheduled UNB ride till 1st January 2023 it's perhaps appropriate at this time to wish all UNB riders, socialites and OlFartz, and also the Midweekers,  a Happy and Safe Festive Season, and keep those brownie-points in hand for more rides in the New Year. Kiama Ride 21st May 2026

  Yesterdays ride down south to Kiama had perfect weather for riding, around 19 degrees and sunny. Hardly any cars on the road and we moved along briskly, National Park, Old Highway, Mount Kembla which is now closed by a chained gate….so u turn down Mount Kiera to Jamberoo for smoko. Thoughtful conversation ensued about divisions 296 and 855 of the  Income Tax Assessment Act.  Lots of discussion about the recent budget, no discussion about dodgy motorcycles or dealers, financial matters consumed the conversation.   Then up to Saddleback Mountain lookout, quick run down to Kiama Marina for fish n chips, we all left together, all but two of us diverted on the way home for some more National Park, quick stop at a very windy Bald Hill.   It was a nice day out, thanks to those on the ride.   Rod

Kangaroo Valley Ride 20th Mar 2025

  A beautiful autumn day loomed and as I approached Maccas Heathcoate, I was thinking.....there gunna be squillions of riders ready to saddle up and conquer the wonderful roads of the Southern Highland's. That was not to be.....seems the Mexican Syndrome had seriously kicked in.   As it turned out, there was a contingent of 4 lonely Beemers - 2 x GS's and 2 x XR's that departed for Kangaroo Valley via Waterfall, National Park, Mt Kierra, Albion Park, Robbo Pie shop and finally Kangaroo Valley. I had earlier made extensive enquiries of the Kangaroo Valley Tourist Office endeavouring to locate a park with picnic tables as we had previously experienced difficulties in this regard. Anyway a long story short, I located a stop just over the Hampton Bridge on the Kangaroo Village side with Car Parking and 3 Picnic Tables by the river.
