Burragorang Ride 25th June 2026

 Report from ride today.

Well 3 Peters first turned up ready for a ride (based on the weather forecast you could hardly call them 3 wise men!) then Brian and Andrew. So 5 jolly riders started the ride under foreboding skies… all went smoothly but by the time we arrived at morning tea smoko the skies decided it was time to confirm the adverse forecast. Two riders got wise and decided to high tail it from there whilst the 3 remaining riders continued to Burragorang lookout. Lookout in words, as it was completely covered in rain cloud but one could imagine the views on a good day would be pretty spectacular, just not today. By this time the rain had set in and it was jointly decided to high tail it home. Great roads and in dry conditions would be a lot of fun. Hope all arrived home safely, ready for hopefully a dry ride next week..

  After a quick briefing 17 talented Riders (2 Ladies and 15 “Gentleman”) departed the Berowra 7 Eleven under clear Spring Sunny Skies at the scheduled   9:30am   earlier start time. As planned our group was joined by Karen Fitzgerald as we cruised by Jerry’s at Kulnura bringing the lady rider numbers up to three. Having Karen join us was a great relief to Allan Scott who was feeling very lost and lonely at the 7 Eleven departure point. The regroup at Wollombi went smoothly as we tracked a further 30k’s north to Broke for our morning tea break. At this point I was mindful of another well known rider Frank Henry from Armidale joining us at the township of Merriwa.  Having used all my amazing computing skills, Artificial Intelligence and other logarithms my ETA given to Frank was to optimistic, so I searched for his “roommate” Wayne whilst at Broke so he could update Frank of a new arrival time. Wollombi Ride 12th Oct 2023

  The designated ride leader has sold his bike and is yet to buy a new one. Given that this was a reasonable excuse, I agreed to lead the ride on his behalf.   Despite the forecasted hot day, 20 riders turned up at Wollombi including one virgin, Geoff, who was duly welcomed to the group and given the clap accordingly. We took a different route to smoko at Jerry's which involved 1.5 hours of riding, without any regrouping thanks to the corner marking system working well.  The route was the usual Pacific Highway to a right turn at Calga and onto Somersby followed by a right turn down Dog Trap Road to Ourimbah. We then rejoined the Pacific Highway to Tuggerah where we turned left and headed to Yarramalong and up Bumble Hill to Jerry's.  After Smoko, 6 riders departed for home leaving 14 making it to Wollombi for lunch in the Park. Currarong Ride 20th April 2023

  Today’s ride to Currarong. I didn’t expect anyone to turn up due to the forecast, it was a bit misty at departure so we all agreed to head straight to the Robertson Pie Shop as it was looking bleak along the coast. The ride to Robbo was brisk and dry up the mountain. Pies were hot and weather mild. Post pies it still looked dodgy along the coast so we scratched Currarong and went for a skid around the southern highlands. All good all the way home, never trust a forecaster.   Cheers Rod

Dungog Ride 28th Mar 2014

Ride Report  28 th   March  202 4  to  Dungog  NSW   It rained during the night so I made a mental note to give the Thursday ride to Dungog a miss…… then I realised I was leading the !@#$ ride. I dragged my sorry beetroot head out of bed, donned my trusty  Rukka  waterproof riding gear and headed to Berowra hoping no other moron would turn up. I was wrong there were fifteen morons hiding under the awning at the 7-Eleven with steady rain falling. Don’t these people have something better to do on a wet Thursday!!! On Wednesday I received a couple of texts inquiring where the morning tea was. I told them Melbourne so they should have arrived there by now but they both piked out because of the inclement weather??? Back to the ride briefing. There were no virgins, except for one dishevelled creature claiming his virginity back due to lack of use or memory. Southern Highlands Ride 10th July 2025

  Four brave souls ventured out into the cold but clear weather this morning departing from Heathcote McDonalds with the destination being Thirlmere via Robertson Pie Shop. We're creatures of habit, aren't we! We do need our pies!   The ride leader was Steve (on 'Big Blue', the RT), with Tony (XR), Peter (V-Strom) and Rod (on the mighty FJR), Rod moving between performing TEC duties as the need arose and hurrying the ride leader along whenever the pace slowed beyond the FJRs clearly excessive idle speed!   Departing McD, we back-tracked to head into the RNP via Audley, then via Bald Hill, the Old Highway and then the M1, off at Picton Rd and then left at Mt. KIera Rd, and down the hill via Harry Graham Dr.   Being a small group, we took some liberties along the way, stopping several times, including an unscheduled but very welcome coffee and toilet break at the newly renovated Mt.
