PADPAL From Berowra 26th Feb 2026

Well the Berowra turnout wasn’t huge given the forecast rain and the Braidwood ride but there was sufficient interest to prompt a ride to Jerry’s to assess the weather north of Sydney.

As it turned out there was no rain on the ride all day and the roads were quiet and clear so it was a good day out all round.

With such a small group we made Jerry’s early so the decision was made to push on to the park in Wollombi and reassess there. 

After smoko, with the weather cooperating, it was agreed we’d head to Cooranbong park for lunch arriving there around 12:30pm. The park had obviously had some rain with large puddles in the parking area but the sun was out for our lunch.

After lunch it was the classic Mandalong, Dooralong, Yarramalong run back to the pie which we reached just after 2pm for coffees and pies. Again we had missed recently rain in Cowan and sitting under the shade sail was gonna be wet so we didn’t. Problems were solved and a number of other customers there asked and were astonished to hear we hadn’t encountered any rain at all.

We left the Pie early as a bank of cloud could be seen on the radar and I for one made it home just before a significant downpour so the weather gods were definitely on our side today.

               The Three Wise Men   With inclement weather in the offering,13 riders set off from McGraths Hill, with one nameless rider mistakenly ready to depart from Pheasants Nest, some 103km away. Scotty & Karen had planned to meet us at Oberon for lunch. A pleasant ride through to Oberon where the full group of 16 assembled, including Pheasants Nest Andrew! It was then a spirited ride down to Trappers Bakery at Goulburn via Shooters Hill. We then routed east to Bungonia and rejoined the main road at Tarago. At this point the dark clouds had moved in and the sky's opened up. Some stopped to put on their wets while others soldiered on to Braidwood. 8th July 2023 - Ride to Khartoum Hotel in Kitchener

 It was a beautiful sunny if somewhat cool morning and nine eager riders assembled at St. Ives.  MTC took this photo at St. Ives with the sun at her back!!! Naaaa everybody knows where we are going.  Morning tea at Jerry's, Kulnura. It was pretty busy but everybody was served in good time with coffee, portuguese tarts and other delights. Our illustrious group at Jerry's Kulnura ... unfortunately Andy was "cropped" by accident. Keith called the Khartoum Hotel in Kitchener to book a table for us just in case they were busy!! Frazer Beach Ride 8th December 2022

  Thank you to the weather gods for a near perfect summer riding day. Not too hot, no rain and a breeze to keep us comfortable in all the gear.   We had two new Dave’s riding with us today so they were given an obligatory dose of the clap. One on a VStrom and the other on a Harley but sadly only one made it to morning tea. We also lost the dromosagnosian Danny at the same time 🙁   So here’s the thing, apparently the new corner marking system, whilst very effective, needs a couple more tweaks to go with the TEC not waiting for latecomers to refuel.   The Leader has an obligation to pick a spot for the corner marker that is safe, gives enough warning to the ride group AND    is very visible. The Marker has an obligation to mark the corner as and where requested, with indicator and arm signals to the ride group and not randomly decide to turn into the corner, stop in the shade where they are hard to see, side on so ...

Hassans Walls Ride 14th Aug 2025

  Today we had ten riders ready to brave the weather on the relatively short ride. As it turned out no rain, dry roads (Mostly) and even some blue sky on the way there.     Morning tea at Mt Tomah where there is still road works. We joined the back of the cars being lead through the works and bit by bit were able to get past them.   The small amount of dirt to the lookout posed no problems for anyone, there was no wind and plenty of seating. Once there It was a pleasant and uneventful day out.    The rain held off until around Windsor.   Not much more to be said really, except, as always great company.   Andrew

Glen Davis Ride 12th Feb 2026

We had 15 riders join us for an early   start at 9:30 , with 14 making it all the way to Glen Davis despite some showers along the way. Naturally the rain stopped as soon as Rod pulled in to put is rain jacket on!   Smoko was at Maccas in Lithgow and lunch was in the picnic area in Glen Davis.  Most of the riders stopped on the way home for a break at the Fruit Bowl in Bilpin where Frosty arrived in his car, having been on a sightseeing tour of the Blue Mountains. Another great ride and the road from Capertee to Glen Davis is in overall very good condition despite a few pot holes that were well marked by painted circles.
