Bulga Ride 9th July 2026

 Despite the rain, 8 keen riders turned up at McGraths Hill all confident it would not rain out west.

We did encounter the odd shower on the way to Bulga but arrived there for lunch in sunshine after a break at Grey Gums. The return however was somewhat wetter especially around Peats Ridge but the sun was out again for our farewells at The Pie.  I was on my KTM390 but everybody was able to keep up with me. I think the roads constantly changing between dry and wet deterred anybody from overtaking me!!

When I left home, the sun was shining, the birds were singing, and the kookaburras were laughing. I soon realised why they were laughing. By the time i reached Berowra, the sky was looking rather ominous — the sort of clouds that suggest someone upstairs had just filled a bucket and was deciding where to tip it. Thankfully, the rain held off. We had about 17 riders turn up, which was a bloody good effort considering the weather forecast. Clearly, none of us had anything better to do. We headed off towards Jerry's for morning tea, where I decided to set a nice, firm pace. At least, I thought it was a nice, firm pace. All I could see behind me were headlights. "I'm obviously going too slow," I thought. Either that, or everyone had decided to keep an eye on the old bloke in front in case he got lost. Southern Highlands Ride 12th March 2026

  Departing Heathcote Macca’s   at 10:00am   6 riders (Peter #1, Peter #2, Peter #3 and Peter #4) along with one Dave and one Kieth tracked southward and through the Royal National Park and onto to Stanwell Tops. The road now is in very good shape after the completion of recent roadworks which hindered our last attempted ride through the National Park. Maintaining a steady pace down the Princes Highway to the Kiama Blowhole for morning tea where we were faced with blustery and windy conditions on arrival so diverted to the more sheltered and infamous Fish and Chip Cafe located next to the boat ramp. The weather was being kind to us as we prepared to tackled Jamberoo Road which took us up to the recently renovated Robertson Pie Shop for lunch. Whilst enjoying tradition Robertson delicacies (Potatoes Pies, Potatoes Milk Shakes, Potatoes Finger Buns) there was no need to discuss any worldly affairs as things appear quite normal when you are out and about riding motorbikes. Gerroa Ride 20th Aug 2026

  Oops I’ve had another seniors moment…..forgot all about submitting my ride report until I was awaken at 5am this morning thinking about my early onset something or other and the effects of such!   Anyway it started out a beautiful day, the sun was shinning, the Birds were singing, the Bees were buzzing and the hills were alive with the sound of music……hmmmm not really sure Julie Andrew’s is a good fit for a knarly bunch of hard arsed motorcyclists.   Anyway seven candidates rocked up to Maccas Heathcoate. Rod provided us with a 20 min dissertation on how wonderful the new BMW R1300GS is and its reliability / technical capabilities as well as his glowing remarks about Procycles!    The ride eventually commenced with a spirited lap through the national park, down the highway and upwards to the Robertson Pie shop for morno’s. Sunday 23rd June 2024 - Kitchener Hotel Ride that wasn't!!!

 There were four hardy members of the NBUC at St. Ives, three in tintops and one on an actual motorbike!!! The weather forecast was pretty bad. One tintop came because he had broken a fetlock, one tintop came because she was waiting for parts for her trusty stead and one tintop came because he was the ride leader and was hoping nobody would be mad enough to come on a motorbike on such a lousy day. The four hardy members had coffee and chatted happily until it was time to go home!!! Thank you Margaret (tintop 1), Geoff (tintop 2) and Peter (motorbike) for keeping me company. Cheers Alan

Swansea Ride - 7th November 2024

RIDE REPORT Let’s Swan off to Swansea, 20 or so Riders gathered (all champing to get away) at the Berowra Servo. The weather looked “iffy”, but that didn’t deter. Knowing that, with my Motoguzzi Italian Stallion, everyone would overtake me, the executive decision was made – meet at Jerry’s (Kulnura) for coffee – and almost immediately the weather improved and Suitcase took the lead – thanks for that. On arrival at Jerry’s, I felt a frisson of friction – our Hills Rider (A) was being harangued by an irate Hog rider for “daring” to block his exit and, despite an apology and (A) moving his bike, the Hog Rider proved to be the ‘perfect gentleman’ by ignoring the apology, and literally spitting at A, before spluttering off to his next confrontation. Excitement over, we farewelled Jerry and Mrs Jerry, with Tony leading us down Bumble Hill to Yarramalong past the Pink Elephants, then to Hue Hue Road, Rutley’s Road and Pacific Highway, past the Monster-Prawn, along some familiar sweeping bends...
